7 Days To Die game direction

So I know most people love where 7 days to die has gone. But I was thinking that its been heavily focused on building stuff like minecraft or something. Now I know this seems to be the central idea around the game but what if there is another game mode introduced like state of decay or something where you get quests to save survivors or a quest to loot a warehouse or something. I love what 7 days tried to accomplish here but just building stuff gets old after awhile. I know everyone probably won't like this opinion but that is just what it is, my opinion. So I'm curious what everyone thinks. just to summarize here I'm just saying I think it would be great if they added quests or objectives to do.

What like State of decay where lady on the radio bossing ya around while your doing all the work. While the group is sitting back at the out post being lazy and drinking a couple cold ones? Eventually I stopped doing the missions and doing my own thing.

I agree with both of the previous posts, but in State of Decay it has a separate game mode (Breakdown, I think it's called) where it's a sandbox version. Look after and rescue survivors, and gather supplies and defend your base. I much preferred that over the campaign. If 7 Days could do something like that, just add survivors we could escort back to our bases and they could play a small role in defending the base, be sent out on supply runs, and be extra help on horde nights.

If you follow what they are building on pc and the direction they are going in keeping in mind that as much as one can hope that it all comes to console but not get hopes of if it doesn't because of console limitations. They are currently working on bandits and colonies. More quest are being worked on for that. Of course this will be aimed towards the navezgane map not sure yet how this will work and such on random world maps. But they are working on a story line for navezgane. They are working on much more as well.

I'm pretty confident that this type of stuff will make it to console. But not guaranteed so not going to get hopes up if it doesn't. But they are working on stuff at least for pc version anyway. Might not be what you wanna hear or it might be.

NPC's like survivors and bandits are already planned for PC. There will be quests, and a whole story line built around the casino boss that runs everything. This is all planned, and some of it is even partially implemented in the PC version.

Whether the console edition will ever see it is another story though. The idea is to match the console up to the PC version as much as possible once the game is finished. Hardware limitations will prevent a lot of stuff from being ported over though.

I never played state of decay lol but no I didn't mean that. I'm just saying it would be nice to have like day to day survival goals or some kind of quests. I just meant the general vibe of the game, I seen people play it on youtube and just thought perhaps some kind of missions or something to spice the game up would be nice. Anything really, I just feel like the roam the wasteland thing isn't really doing it for me, the building stuff is okay but gets boring after a while.

I can deal with the console to PC race as it will always be behind the PC. But I'll take something like that as it will be a most welcome challenge. Anything mission or story wise I'll take

Yes thats what I am talking about, adding survivors and other stuff like that would be awesome. As it stands I don't play online and it really feels like I am the last person in the world when I play. I mean there are traders now but all they are is a store place holder.

Not sure if it will always be behind pc. The pc version is in Alpha stage so the game is still in development. So right now the console doesn't get anything being tested it only gets what is finished. Also it only gets what the console can handle as well. So some stuff night be left out or might change a little so it can work. For now yeah it will be behind pc because of that but once the game is out of development and is gold then it really wont be behind pc at least for the most part depending on what the console will be able to handle.

Hopefully the bandits, colonies, quest and story line they are currently working on will make it to console but it will be awhile before we find out so just have to wait and see.

Agree with your thread Master_Elizibs. The looting, building, surviving horde's does get kinda stale, especially once the player is well set up with food, supplies, weapons, etc.

I would absolutely love a story mission, even if it's somewhat generic. Scattered letters with backstory or minor quests such as obtain a "certain amount of this" or "loot & destroy that" or whatever.

Anything would be welcome in my opinion. Even if survivors we're merely "on paper" because honestly, the game most likely won't be able to run with multiple NPC's running around, talking, giving quests, etc.
By "on paper" I mean maybe we could access an information box saying how many survivors/allies we have, who to send out for supplies, who is injured/got killed on a mission, etc.

We'll just have to wait & see what they can get to us. Again, great idea though!

I'll be happy with the rumored new vehicles headed to console besides that behemoth zombie that smashes bases. I wanna deal with him. The zombies we got now are to easy.

New vehicles might not make it to console though. It is in fact new addition to the game just not sure if console can handle those new rides who knows. Well at the least console could see the bicycle lol. It will be interesting to see what all they end up being able to bring to console we shall find out one day.

The behemoth got canceled. They decided it didn't fit in the game. But maybe later they might add it who knows.

Curious what ya need to make a bicycle. Short pipe and some tires? Maybe need to read a book to craft the bike chain or spend skill points for the bike chain? Forge the handle bars like the mini bike? No motor or battery. Basket and lock optional. Or just flat out of random bicycles laying around?

My concern is that at some point, the consoles just wont be able to run/add anymore new content due to simply trying to process all that data for more than 1 person while also playing the game.

Could there ever be a hosted version similar to Conans rentable servers for Xbox? Not that that would solve all problems, but might ease the load on consoles.

I wouldn't be too concern if the console can't handle it then they will keep it out of console. It might not be fully maxed like pc things might get cut back some so at least part of it can make it. Kinda like the bike how they cut the top speed back so it could come to console. Just little things like that and if it can't be cut back then they most likely not going to add it. At this point it really hard to say what else can make it to console and what can't. I can speculate all day long but it would probably be wrong and also it would be my opinion when fact is I have no clue. Only time will tell and one day we will find out where the console version will end up.

I seen on twitter they made a school bus now. Not sure if just a prop or ya can drive it. It did have flat tires though. It make for a nice military pill box killhouse. Put a vault door on the main door. Fire out the windows on horde night. 4 players be even easier. Two pick each side and open fire.

                              This is a brilliant idea!
