Recommended Posts

Introducing a Proof of Concept (POC) Play through, using Valmod Overhaul, and Magoli's CompoPack version 29.

** This Mod is not supported by valmar, Magoli, or anyone. It's a Proof of Concept Only Play **

A base mod of Valmar's Valmod Overhaul, as synced from the 7D2D Mod Launcher.

Using SDX 0.7.2, and the SDX Mod Helper and the SDX Tutorials, SDX elements were added and intermingled to provide a unique play experience.

The SDX Mod Helper downloaded the SDX mods, and updated the localization files, removing bad entries and adding references to which workstations

are to be used for crafting.

Xtrackicking's Zombie Enhancement was added as a 7D2D Patch, generated and applied with the 7D2D Mod Launcher adds a more versatile element.

Snapshot taken on September 26th, 2017

-> Valmar Overhaul

-> Magoli's CompoPack

-> SDX Bigger Back Pack mod ( Size 42 )

-> Guppycur's Blood Moon Trickle

-> Misc. Crafting Lag Fixes, reduces delay when searching for recipes

-> Expanded Minibike Storage, with Combine Workbench

-> NoAmmo mod allows you to unload guns without dis-assembling

-> Zombie Transmogrifier gives you more random zombies at different walk types, and speeds

-> Xtrakicking's Zombie Enhancement Pack

-> Localization File updated to provide indications on which workstation they are crafted indications

-> Romero Mode. Headshots matter

-> Nightly Blood Moons - Begins the 2nd night, so prepare quickly.

Downloads:

Available in the 7D2D Mod Launcher, under the "Sphereii-mental" section, for the full experience.

Available on Github directly: https://github.com/7D2DSDX/ValmodSDX

-> Default is Feral Hordes begin on the 7th day, then nightly there after.

-> Use the NightlyHorde folder to apply the patch there the Feral Hordes begin on Day 2.

-> Xtracking's zombies are not enabled or supported in the direct download.

Reminder: This is an unsupported mod, put together as a Proof of Concept only.

Feel free to report feed back in this thread, but there will be no "re-balancing" of the XML. The focus of this mod is for the added SDX features, as listed above, and how they affect the immersive-ness of the experience.

[ Dedicated ]

For those interested in playing with this on a dedicated server, the server files can be found here:

https://github.com/ExperimentalSDXMods/ValmodDedicated/archive/master.zip

By default, it's the Blood Moon Head Start, where the nightly flood moons start on day 7.

Use this link for the nightly Blood moons, starting on day 2: https://github.com/ExperimentalSDXMods/ValmodDedicated/tree/master/NightlyHordes

[ End of Dedicated section ]

Enjoy

So, do I need the 7DTD Mod Launcher for installing the mod?

There're no installation instructions.

Thx,

Darehitorimo

The 7D2D Mod Launcher is the best way to install, since it'll get any hot fixes found.

Otherwise, you are correct, I should have written more Installation notes:

[ Installation Notes ]

1) Make a copy of your Steam Game

2) Download https://github.com/7D2DSDX/ValmodSDX/archive/master.zip

3) Extract the master.zip file

4) Copy the entire contents to the top level of the new copy of your Steam copy.

5) Run 7daystodie.exe

If you want the nightly blood moon, follow steps 1 through 4, then:

4b) Copy the Assembly-CSharp.dll in the NightlyHorde folder, into your 7DaysToDie_Data/Managed/ folder

Do I need to pay attention to anything else, when I want to install this onto my server?

Thx for the quick reply. :)

I'll have to make a dedicated server DLL I'll work on that today, and post when it's ready.

You will still need the client install to play on a server, since the SDX elements are mostly local.

Note: This is untested. I was able to start a dedicated server, but haven't tested beyond that.

Dedicated files are uploaded.

Upload the mod to your dedicated server environment, following the client install steps.

[ Nightly Horde - Head Start ]

For the nightly hordes, starting on day 7, install this:

https://github.com/7D2DSDX/ValmodSDX/tree/master/7DaysToDieServer_Data/Managed

[ nightly Horde - Starts Day 2 ]

For the nightly hordes, starting on day 2, install this:

https://github.com/7D2DSDX/ValmodSDX/tree/master/7DaysToDieServer_Data/Managed

Then this:

https://github.com/7D2DSDX/ValmodSDX/tree/master/NightlyHordes/Dedicated

Well, after I started the mod the first time on my private system, it worked.

On the 2nd start the game doesn't get loaded. It only loads a black screen and the ingame mouse.

So, something seems to be broken. (Also wit the 7DTDlauncher)

Also on my dedicated server, the server process is running, but it doesn't create any saves/files.

Loading script assembly "Managed/Assembly-CSharp.dll" failed!

I would have to set up a full dedicated and do some testing.

For your local play, have you tried to Delete Mod, and re-install?

Yeah, also I reinstalled the entire game several times.

Same issue, reproduceable after second starting of the game.

It doesn't matter, if you already played on a world or just quit from the main menu.

Looks like some of the display names are wrong, like "gunmp5", "CNTCorner", "Foodyuccaplant" just off the top of my head. Also some of the barred iron doors are missing (such as the one in the bomb shelter on xcostum_Safehouse, by_Limodor), which I'm sure worked fine in the normal Compo pack 28, (didn't test 29 so not sure where the issue is). Other then that, seems to be working fine.

Thanks for the feedback. This is using Valmod Overhaul and Compo Pack 29 (I think). Likely those issues are in the base valmod, since I haven't manually made any changes to the XML.

Hey sphereii, if i use the NightlyHordes for the server, the server wont start.

I set the path for the setting.ini and get this error in log:

If i start the server with the normal assembly-csharp, i get also errors for sdx: https://pastebin.com/nVk6VTRq

Sorry for the trouble. You don't need to worry about the settings.ini or any command line parameter. I'd try to remove them, and just launch it like you normally would. Be sure to disable EAC, however, as its not EAC-friendly.

EAC ist deactivated. But if i use the assembly-csharp from NightlyHordes, the server wont start and shows error spam in the logfile.

did you test it with the dedicated server ?

I reviewed your log file, and looks like a configuration issue.

Did you install the full vamod dedicated, then replaced the DLL for the nightly hordes?

Step 1) Install this: https://github.com/ExperimentalSDXMods/ValmodDedicated

Step 2) Install the Nightly DLL.

Yep, thats it what i've done 2 times. I reinstalled a thrid time and get the same errors like the 1st time: https://pastebin.com/A1hug7ux

I've done what the description said, but no luck ...

This is your new error, so you are making progress.

Unable to open archive file: D:/Gameserver/7DtD-Server3/server/7DaysToDieServer3_Data/../Data/Bundles/BlockTextureAtlases

Sounds like it's using the Client's DLL instead of the dedicated. The link in the previous post is pointing to ValmodDedicated, and is the right link.
