Generally me and my friends set up a multiplayer game where we build a nice fortified village and go about our lives. I'm usually the one that ends up hunting to ensure we can get some food. The thing is, I need time to build my own house! So at this point I'm wondering, if I dig various 5X5X2 pits in areas away from our village, will animals and zombies end up stuck there so that I can make easy pickings out of them? What's the despawn range on animals? Is there one? What about zombies. We all recently bought the game so I don't know the nitty gritty of the game , but I'd be happy to learn.
