  1. @OneManStanding I agree with @unholyjoe - previously I'd build on two lane roads but haven't for a while. But when I did I'd build it up and have my parking lot just under it lol But for now I've just taken over POI's with an LCB; the group has done the same on the server. With how 'hard' things have become I've been considering building a base outside the city with a separate horde base near; keeping in mind the destructive power of demolishers. Having a base/horde base together is another option.
  2. ... and if they blast your base open, just ride around on your bike - if you can - past 'Happy Music Time'
  3. @fragtzack Yup! Although I have seen boars in what seems to be a poi or two.
  4. My wife and the other ladies in our group would like some too! They're sick and tired of 'building new stuff that looks old and used."
  5. Yes, I know but I play with 7 others and they've noted the same; both in their single player and our multiplayer games. That's why I've also added Gage848; I watched his 'pre-release' and his 'after release' (but I didn't get to the one released yesterday). I can see the same happening to him. All if this would have been better if we've known about it before hand. Now that I know about the randomness, location, etc. being a factor - its makes it much easier to understand and more importantly accept and will pass to our group. So I take it food is one that will almost always drop?
  6. Definitely room for improvement. If you look at Kage848's first run b307? You'll see he's experiencing it too and he did the same with the point distribution. Then in his 2nd run it seems to have gotten a bit better. So what ever was done with their release and 'public' is where its at. I'm also guessing with a little bit of observation is that some magazines will drop no matter what the player picks. But then gets 'updated' with a weighting system based upon what the player picks. It seems that what the player picks definitely doesn't drop immediately as I put 2 points into something and have run 2 quests last night and haven't seen them drop yet; albeit - I'm pretty sure I don't have much in that tree (machinegunner?) donno just woke up and gotta go. Okay! So there seems to be magazines that will drop no matter what, can you give us an indication of what?
  7. Been playing for sometime, and I've noticed that 'the work you do' wither it be mining, looting, etc. although to a minute degree does effect how much food and water you need or how often you need to eat and drink. With Alpha 21 it seems to have been stepped up about 3 fold. Can anyone verify this? While mining I need to eat and drink +5 times for an entire day (probably 8 and more water than food). While doing quests, looting - its about +3 to 5 times I'll need to eat and drink a day; about the same rate as Alpha 19.5 no matter what you did. I've also noticed that 'water usage' is way, way up. I have it in my head that this was at least mentioned in the release notes back in Alpha 16, but don't know for sure and have never seen it change much or actually hardly since then.
  8. @adaemus AH HA! I knew I wasn't 'the only one out here!' What I've been finding is that with all the different directions 'we' must go - the 'book rewards' are lagging. I put one point into making bacon and eggs' and am still getting them; and that was like the 2nd day from the first 4 points we get. For us - we have to meet up in game before we can 'work together' and to do that sometimes is virtually impossible. In order for us to do this - we have to have those first 4 points for 'self survival' - looter, cardio, cooking to now have a chance to make bacon and eggs... In my single player - you have no choice but to do quests! So I'm forced to do quests for 2 or 3 days, then to base building. But again - with the distribution of books seemingly out of whack - I've found it a bit hard. As @RipClaw mentioned - I'm feeling that would only help a bit as what ever the player chooses will become the dominant book drop! IE: They'd all have to spend a bunch of points to get what 'we need' while 'we're doing what we need to do.' In the release notes TFP mentions classes, but I don't see any - lol For 'other classes' that only need one or two trees its totally fine and dandy. But for us - that need many trees, this bites the big one. So in order for this to work the rest have to 'dip into' other classes, thereby curtailing everyone. I don't doubt that out of all the groups like ours out there - there is at least half of them with players like us that are not finding this change a good thing for us. None of them really liked the repetitiveness of mining, gathering, building, etc. and that's why 'we' do it. I'm at work so I can't go over the trees, but I have a feeling the others are going to have to pickup something within their tree for 'us to survive'/'continue.' Our 'brawlers' absolutely hate mining... Donno how that's going to go over with them.
  9. I liked Learn By Doing and Learn by Perks, this one is confusing. So - do I have it right in that if I put a point into 'bows'/'agility' I should get mostly those books from the moment I pick that perk? At least thats how I understand it. The system seems to be skewing - because of the way I'm picking them - in totally 'random' directions! For instance - Prior to the change 'we'd' pick "for the first 4 points" - like lucky looter, healing factor, 'cooking' (to make bacon & eggs) whereas some would pick other things etc. Cause prior to A21 this would give you the best chance at survival. Albeit others would go strength and clubs and such... So, how's the system responding to this type of 'random placement'? From my POV it's lagging. I put one point into cooking and still getting a lot of cooking books! Maybe it's the way their weighted?!? IE: Early picks are weighted the heaviest and therefore you get mostly that? OH! By the way - where are the 'classes' that are constantly referred to in the release notes?!? Or is that not in my UI? Anyways - played a few games like the old way of picking perks and the 'book calculator' is way off! If you pick one 'perk'/'tree' at a time it seems fine, but I'm sure I'm not the only one to wait a bit and put a few points in where every you want. IE: I generally wait - sometimes due to combat, or because I forget or on purpose to place points because 'I need 2 or more points' to level up this one skill... The perk book picker seems to be lagging; at times from one to two 'picks.' I 'generally' play a 'sneaking, slithering, bow using up to mid game assassin[then whatever gun I can get my slimy hands on the game]'/'crafter'/'miner type person' so I would guess that also complicates issues. I don't mind change - especially in single player. But in our multiplayer game - it seems to still be skewed/lagging and possibly because of 'seemingly random' picking of perks - especially those not within the same 'tree.' Anyone else experiencing this? Or should we all just pick one single tree and live in that tree?
  10. Broken - few things 1.) there's a "New Folder" within the TacticalWeapons\UIAtlases\ItemIconAtlas folder. Got 3 files - Box762mmBTHP Match.png; BoxM855Ammo.png & s.png Copied files one level up. 2.) Can make AmmoBench - but can't do anything with it. Tried renaming both mods to have ZZZ in front of name - no effect. 4.) Tried deleting "windowCraftingQueue" but no effect.
  11. I had forgotten about this one, but it seems to be related to the Whiteriver power armor set. There's like a tube that appears after you've been in the motorcycle on the players right arm. Looking down usually exposes it - especially if you don't see it while going straight and level. I thought it might be related to a mod on the armor but nope. It very consistent with the Whiteriver power armor set. So to localize this I put on the set, drove around in the motorcycle and then got off. Looked down and there it is. Changed armor to 'basic' power armor without any mods and did it again, nope - no 'tube.' Did that a few times with logging out and back in so fairly certain it's related to the whiteriver set. There is another 'shadow' coming from the top of 'my head' - but I haven't investigated that one yet, except to pull off the mods on the whiteriver helmet. Still there.
  12. Hey @bdubyah Thanks for the Excellent Mod! I downloaded the mod sometime ago (about a month?) and have been running it on Alpha 20.3 (b3). What I just noticed is that the statues - once equipped will give the character the attribute buff even if they discard the statue. Is that normal? I'm loving the mod even though I ran into those bandits and mutants and they've killed me like 14 times already! Thought I was big and bad enough to take them on! LOL Bad thing was I ran into them next to a traitor at around level 5... Finally abandoned that backpack after 3 deaths/4 attempts to recover; a bit harsh. Also - loot drops on wall safes seem to drop the sewing kits at about +85% rate; a bit excessive. Ammo drops for energy weapons are excessive too; although early on they're a good source of iron. Bandit & Mutant base 'drops' seem a bit light but fine. Death penalty seems a bit excessive, but is probably fine! I stacked up 3 of them at one time and that sucked! Cause one seems to last 6 hours IRL. lol Although that could be related to how long I've set the length of day in the game? Weather effect doesn't seem to effect much as I've been able run around in the desert and wasteland without the need for much of a change of cloths. Basic clothing seems to be sufficient. That one is probably a hard one to adjust. Perks could possibly use some adjustment like: Cowboy and High Tech might be pushed down the line? Given I haven't used any of the energy weapons except to say that I've shot the ones I found but with what I have I didn't want to waste the ammo I got yet and definitely don't have those perks. Just thinking that if someone wants to perk into those - it might be a 'better' to squeeze more points out of them for them to get access. OH YEAH! The turbo charger seems to 'over power' the police car but probably fine as I like running away from the vultures/mosquitoes! Doesn't seem to do much with the 4X4 but that is probably because of the vehicles stats. Minigun seems to do way more damage than 'it should' but that could be me; maybe add a bit on reloading time? So far I've only seen 1 wandering horde of bandits, but I'm on the move a lot. They came with the fog - maybe coincidence? But that was scary! So I'm a bit hesitant to 'stick around' when I see the fog! LOL I haven't seen any mutant wandering hordes, albeit - again I don't stay in one place for long periods of time. Not even at my base, except my horde base at horde night. OH YEAH! I saw the mutant Behemoth's standing around the my horde base after horde night but they weren't doing anything and I was able to attack them without them attacking me; and no loot. Looks like you can only do the series (quest chain) of quests from a traitor only once. Cause the first time I thought I was going to be able to do it once in the forest biome, and transfer to the desert and do it again, but it only gave me 'single quests.' Again, thanks @bdubyah
  13. I haven't ever pulled any from loot. But I did find that POI. It was sitting on the top shelf lol
