  1. I recently "stuck my head in the door" with 7DTD again, been about a year or so. I can definitely see an improvement in game performance and appearance (on most things). That's reassuring from an old adopter's PoV. While I can see some of the OP's points, I just decided to put the game down for long periods of time until they get into Beta. Too many iterations to fool with for me. It probably makes me a throwback player as I am not up-to-speed on 7DTD gameflow, etc. Anybody who's been around since early days knows the Devs are going to do it the way they want, like it or not. So I just decided to wait them out and see what the Beta holds in store. The price I paid many years ago wasn't very expensive, so I don't hold a grudge against TFPs for failing to meet personal wants in 7DTD. I will reevaluate it when the time comes. Kind of reminds me of Raphael's recent The Long Dark announcement to move to (mostly) paid content in the future. Some folks were quite upset, but my initial investment has gone on long enough and if it means me ponying up a few dollars to enjoy new content, so be it.
  2. Well, not saying this is the case here (as I don't know obviously) but I remember other games where the random loot tables had coding issues where it should have been more random, but the code had errors that would send each RNG task off a particular path (or two) more often statistically than the rest of the decision paths. Programming AI and (seemingly clever) scripting is fraught with pitfalls and traps. My expectations have gotten very low over the years, so I don't get too stressed about it.
  3. Likewise EC, I fired up the 6K pre-made map instead of Navezgane, but it runs great on my high-end PC. Looks WAAAY better than the earlier Alphas and the color palette is much better (at least to my eye) and not so washed out. No shimmering so far on a pre-made at least and fighting and moving and crafting, etc. is all still good. Nice job FunPimps, kudos to the Alte gang and all the newer folks for making such a stellar version. I am sure there are things you all want to fix or tweak, but for higher end hardware the game is a dream. Sounds like some guys are having the usual issues, but I think some customizing will help with that. Looking forward to trying random generation maps next. Cheers!
  4. Thanks for the extra bit of how-to wipe old stuff there Roland, I had completely forgotten about it. Looking forward to A20. P.
  5. Alright... so either you lot are being particularly boring and inane with your posts (which is entirely possible) or the Pimps are really busy with something. Last post by a Dev was Gazz on June 4th. Hmm. Time to put on the ol' tinfoil hat.
