  1. They were not being negative at all. Those numbers they showed represent the fact that when you fix one bug, 10 more can crop up as a result of that fix. When everything is connected in an ever evolving web, you can not predict how changing one line of code effects another. And even if you know it's coming, you still have to take the time to fix it.

  3. Hello all, I was doing some thing and have an idea and question to put out there into the world: The question: Generally speaking the amount to storage in a container is related to the size of the container. The small upper cabinet has 8 or so, the large loot containers have many more. This seems to be consistent throughout the game except for the single, blue liquid barrels. They have an enormous amount of storage and it is odd every time I open one. Is this intended? If so, cool, I have no issue with it. I am just wondering. The idea: I am sure you all have this fully under control, but I thought I would throw my two cents in for fun. The tools for the workbench could include: Calipers: Allows for more precise measurements and can add a reduction in crafting time to the workbench. Dremel: Allows for manufacture of more complicated parts. Can be required for advanced crafting, i.e. Motorcycle/ 4x4, Pump Shotgun/ AK47/ etc Hope everyone is having a great week! Thank you for your time
  4. Just saw the tweet about the Thick 44 (RIP) tribute, player craftable flag going into A21. Thank you, Fun Pimps, for putting this into the game and once again showing that you are a class act and appreciate your relationship with your community and what they bring to the table.
  5. Good morning everyone! I am excited about the stream tonight and would like to pose a question to the community! What is the feature/ topic you are the most hopeful that they will cover in the stream? For me it is the new LBL system, for sure. Have a great day everyone!
  6. Hello all, I hope everyone is doing well. I have to say that I am excited at the possibility of hidden wires. If that is not what the clue meant, then that is cool, but I LOVE the idea of hiding them. I build extra floors into my basses to contain the wiring, so that when you are on the living or working levels you can't see them. I have an issue....I know. lol Secondly about this current conversation. I am in the camp that TFP do not owe us anything, we are not entitled to anything. Sometimes entitlement is justified. When you deposit money into a bank, you are entitled to see that money in your account balance. But in this case, as people have been saying, in no way are TFP obligated to answer to us. Lastly, one of the reasons TFP use the "it is done when it is done" instead of giving a date of possibility, is that this community will take that as biblical truth and attempt to hold them to account for it. It happens every time a date is even whispered as a possibly, maybe, has a chance to be. It happened with Rick and the interview. He said that A22 could be in the spring, so people in this thread started interpreting that as to when A21 will be out. We are lucky to have a forum like this at all. To have company owners and game developers that actually talk to the community and listen to us. Do not mistake that for an obligation on their part to answer to us.
  7. That is true. I forget sometimes that relatively speaking the entire map is quite small. I could be pedantic and say that it is not likely that even the mountain sides would be that build upon that much, but your answer sounds good to me.
  8. Good morning everyone, I have been enjoying reading about A21 and can't help but play now and think of all the ways it will change my playstyle. I hope in a good way! I have been playing a long time and know that I have settled into some habits. Some good, some bad. I am very used to getting those initial 4 sill points and putting one in master cook and one in Advanced Engineering. These let me cook all the basic things and make a forge. So, even if I can't find a cooking pot, I can make one fairly easily. I also admit that I take full advantage of the fact that when you can craft a quality in one item (a lvl 3 stone shovel) you can craft it in any tier of that item (lvl 3 steel shovel). So, as stated on here, once you have your advanced engineering to 7 and you have a lvl 5 iron pick axe and you finally get the steel tools schematic, you don't have to start over again at lvl 1 steel pickaxe. You go straight to lvl 5. I am excited about seeing how the change with the magazines changes this way of playing and the mindset as to when certain things are available to craft. I do have some questions/ concerns about A21 that I would like to mention. (these are all just in my opinion, not unyielding truth) 1. I know that bandits are exciting for a lot of people, but I do hope that this does not become a bandit game. It is a zombie game and I hope the focus stays that way. 2. As far a game balance ( and I know this is being worked on actively). In my current game I am on day 68. Of all the weapons and tools I use I have Tier 3, Grade 6. For the tools and shotguns I was able to craft grade 5 and had made them. I then started getting grade 6 in nearly everything. Auto-Shotgun, all tools, M60, etc. The only 'issue' with this is that I had been planning on climbing the Fortitude Tree and Machine Gun skill to be able to make a grade 5 M60, once I got the schematic. Once I got the M60 Grade 6, there was no point. The same exact thing happened with the Impact Driver. I had a grade 5 socket wrench and got the schematic for the impact driver. I thought I would get enough skill in Salvage Ops to make a decent one, then got a grade 6 impact driver from a quest. Maybe the separation of crafting from skills will take care of this problem. As what you craft and the grade that you craft it has nothing to do with your skills anymore. 3. In regards to the terrain in the wasteland. The burnt forest and wasteland were combined in the recent past. That is cool. The biggest thing is that because of that, even when outside cities, the ground is littered with I-Beams and piles of cinder blocks. This makes driving the 4x4 an arduous task. Is this the intent? To have there be a negative when using the late-mid to late game vehicle when in the late game biome? It has great inventory, great speed, but you can't go anywhere quickly unless you are on a road/ trail? Lastly I know the focus is gameplay of realism and I am totally cool with that, but I have to ask, How did all those cinder blocks and I-Beams get out there in the middle of the woods anyway? My suggestion would be to make the areas outside of town burnt forest, with burnt forest ground and the settled areas (and a radius outside of them) have the full wasteland terrain. I apologize for the novel, but I have been thinking about these things for a while and they all came out at once. Thank you for your time and all that you guys do!
  9. Good Day Everyone, I just got caught up reading the 81 monstrous pages of this diary. It was nice to read what is coming and see everyone's thoughts. I am really looking forward to A21 and can't wait to see how things play out. For the crafting skills getting their own magazines: I am a crafter, through and through. I take Adv. Eng. and Grease Monkey to level three and four respectively every game play for electric goodies and Motorcycles. So we will have to see how the perks get rebalanced. I am guessing a fairly decent shift in my gameplay though. For the WaterBottleGate: I see this as a positive. It will be difference at first not having multiple stacks of 125 bottles at any given time, but we adjust. I do think that the new workstation is very cool and look forward to trying it out. I do have an idea/ question about a change that I can see as useful. IMHO it would be beneficial to be able to choose what level you craft items at. So, if you can make lvl 5, you can make an item Level 1 - 5. One reason is material cost. As it is now, it goes up as the level goes up. And when you don't have enough of something, you can make a lower level one and still improve your gear. Also, you may be making an additional workstation (for example) and need a hammer. If you don't have any hammer, you can always make one, but why make a lvl 5 hammer, just to throw into a workbench? I totally get it if it is seen as below the scope of intent. And I agree that it is a total QoL change, but QoL is a thing! Thank you for all the hard work you all do! And nice to have some time to post again.
  10. Hello all, Sounds like alpha 20 is goin to be amazing! I am glad to see what is getting worked on and that the structure and systems put into A18 and A19 are enduring. I was wondering if in A20 we could get a small addition to the code. I think it would be awesome if we could repair broken cabinets. This would take them from useless to having some storage. It would be just like repairing a see through/ broken block on the outside of a house. I figure it could require some nails and wood. To take it from broken with no storage to fixed with 12 storage or so, or however much normal cabinets have. This is easy enough code that anyone can do it, but I think it would be a nice feature in the base game. Especially when picking a house to squat in for those first 7 days or more. Thank you, Caz
