  1. Decided to do a t4 Quest during horde night Then found another t4 building, did that too Went for a pure DPS build with spears. Feels nice
  2. Haha yeap. I've been playing batons on a multiplayer world. Probably should have warmed up first. I hardly even use guns, if at all, usually. Now I'm setting up lighting. Comes out too dark on youtube. I'll do a version 2 next horde. Should be a bit better.
  3. How to sledge. And I show case my new outpost, the Two Block Horde Base, on day 70 horde night. Use the steel sledge for big hits. And stone sledge when your overwhelmed. If you need some breatheing room, then use a gun. I put points in shotgun for the speed debuff to zombies. And maxed out Machine gun for the stamina buff. Its really nice if your out of stamina, just unload a clip before swinging for the fences. And the rest of the strategy is just footwork, cloth armour and buffs. Runners jacket is a must have too. The build is Strength and Fortitude trees maxed out. Using a cigar, Tough Guy Glasses and Sham Chowder Strength 5/5 Boomstick 5/5 Skull Crusher 4/4 Sexual Tyrannosaurus Fortitude 5/5 Machine Gunner 5/5 Pain Tolerance 5/5 Iron Gut 3/3 Cardio
  4. I remember hiding in a kitchen for my first night, listening out for the zombies outside. I’d search something then repeat a powerful incantation to ensure I don’t get found… wait a bit.. search another cupboard, then repeat the incantation. ”please. Please. Please… Pleeeeease don’t find me” Rinse and repeat. This was on PlayStation. I was learning to box the zombies way back then. Knuckle Busters weren’t out yet. I got really good and decided to try punch out a zombie dog. It didn’t end well. When knuckle busters came out, I didn’t try any other weapons. Until about a month ago, I tried spears. Now I’m loving the steel sledge in horde street fights, shirtless!
  5. Looks like I should have got some popcorn… Whats wrong with the skill system? My only complaint is sex Rex is overpowered, which means you kind of have to get it… but that’s being resolved next patch. I like to build pure DPS. It’s fun for me to become a glass cannon and just destroy all the zombies from day one, and enjoy the rush of knowing I could probably die from just one hit (if I get stunned in a mob). Other players like to spread out for survivability. Others like to build defensively. Others like to focus on crafting and building stats. That’s the beauty of the current skill system, you can build your character to suit your play style. PlayStations skill system was boring. You had to spend your whole first night just bulk crafting to level up your tools. If you didn’t do it then you felt like you were handicapping your character. It made the game not worth starting new characters/builds. Although IMO, I think that system would suit some aspects, like mining or chopping down trees. Some people just like moaning. Like my wife. She moans when I leave the toilet seat up, what’s the big deal. And especially when I fill up a whole chest with all my junk items, that I leave for sorting out later, at some stage, when I get round to it… but she usually beats me to it. IMO, if you don’t like the game, then don’t play it. I hear Minecraft is pretty good these days.
  6. It just makes sense. The Survival mechanics on 7 Days would make PVP fun. Do you run for the chest of potentially, maybe good weapons, but quite possibly and most likely not. Or do you run for the bush and try survive by hunting. You don’t even need to do any programming or modding. All the game mechanics of The Hunger Games are naturally built into 7 Days. All you need is a map set up with chests and podiums for players, near some bush. And for extra flavour, zombies are still running around. What rules would you add or change. Id make it Horde every night, and long days. Insane difficulty. Permadeath. Then lower XP from kills, and player damage to blocks.
  7. Yeah it’s good for horde night. End game I usually have two sets. Full padded and a full steel set for horde night. But I usually forget to switch lol. I found the difference very noticeable. Especially when playing Brawler, I get hit more often, which kind of defeats the purpose of wearing more armour. I can even notice the difference between a fully kitted military armour with perks, and padded. Running through raiding POIs and in general is quicker. Brawler is a lot like boxing, where you want to stand right in front of your opponent, but not get hit. I always use pain tolerance too. Because if you get stunned in padded armour, your as good as dead. Plus it makes up for the armour loss, enough that your not having a heart attack every time you get hit.
  8. The movement is unbeatable. I just did a day 35 horde night with a steel sledge, fighting on the road. Barely got hit, and destroyed the horde with ease. The movement serves two purposes. One it lets you dodge anything. Two it draws out zombie strikes. Once they miss, then it’s easy to line up the sledge swing of choice. I just respected from a strength build, to a strength/fortitude hybrid, because I got a t6 M60. So I dropped shotgun for machine gun, took both sledge and club, and pain tolerance. What an unbeatable build. TBH I didn’t even need the club, so probably wasted 5 points. It’s just that I maxed the books for it. I tried it, and it seems a little broken. But you can only hit one at a time. I’ll have to test it out questing, I’m sure it will come in handy. I was having issues with stamina, swinging the sledge as a pure strength build. But the stamina from landing machine gun hits is phenomenal. And more than makes up for it. I leveled using steel armour. But it’s way too slow, even with 5 points in heavy armour and all pieces using movement mods. I usually use padded, but I thought I’d try something different. And I’m convinced padded armour is top tier. Does anyone else use padded armour with all their builds?
  9. I played on, but used knuckles busters. Then went bare knuckle horde night on the street, because why not. Dit the second one too but started to notice the no damage increase from perks.. Shirtless, heck yeah, now that’s a challenge!
  10. You obviously haven’t heard of a small company called Blizzard. Started out gamers. But the people running it, are definitely not motivated by gaming enjoyment. Or how about activision, or try any EA games pay to win format. To answer your question, yes. I think it’s rare to find a gaming development company that is genuinely run by fun and enjoyment as the main motivator, and not money or the great hours… No Mans Sky turned out to be fake. Hello Games sold a lie. You can’t fly from planet to planet, I tried. Can’t fly to the suns. The star system is just a 3D map, glorified. There no gigantic dinosaurs and dragon snakes. And the procedural generation is super simplistic, it’s easy to render. In other words it’s a lot easier to expand on. If you had half the customisation as 7DTD, I doubt it would have made it as far. I got it on launch, it was a let down, big time. That Sean guy acted out he was a genuine gamer, but he played me for a fool. I kept playing until the car updates, they still didn’t have any meaningful AI. Not sure how far it’s come since then, but it was a farming grindfest… over an entire universe, no thanks. The planets became repetitive and the “infinite possible life forms” all had a generic base, just with different skins. 7DTD real strength is it’s mods. And I haven’t even tried any yet. Except one for life bars, and one for loot locking. But some mods build an entirely new game. Vanilla, the combat is fun, and the building is far superior to No Mans. And even beats Minecraft, with blocks with different shapes and structural physics. No other game comes close.
  11. I have similar specs with same issues. I like to play on lowest settings. Especially on insane difficulty. Because one frame skip can mean death, especially as a Brawler where inches count. But I always have issues in the wastelands city. It’s “playable”. Probably high 40 frames, but it’s enough to put me off going there on insane. The rest of the wastelands is ok. No real issues on normal difficulty. I need to upgrade sometime in the near future. Does anyone know the best specs for ultra settings? My brother has a very nice set up, but it still has issues, probably optimisation…
  12. Quick google search says no. I want to hit a key bind and it will apply a medpack. My first 5 items on my hot bar are my weapons and mostly used items. And I keep my medpack on number 8. I set a key bind for slot 8, but I still have to left click. Is there a mod, or anyway to leave my medpack in my inventory and set a key bind. And when I press the key bind it just uses the item. Basically an instant heal button. Or any item you want. It would only save microseconds, but sometimes that’s the difference between life and death!
  13. Yeah just starting to to realise that. I was judging on the fact I could clear the hospital on day one. Something I found hard a while back… but considering I can clear hospital with bare knuckles on day one, maybe it’s not the spears that’s OP lol. Maybe that’s the standard for veteran players. If you can clear it on day one with your favourite weapon, then your a veteran!
  14. Good on ya clearing the hospital. Normal play throughs, I skip sex Rex altogether. I like to focus on 7/10 Fortitude and 4/5 Brawler before speccing other stats. The over top damage makes up for the stamina until I start going for flurry and get stamina from there. Ill also stay buffed from food for stamina, even early game eating burnt meat as it helps a lot. And keep coffees and beers on my hot bar. I also focus on getting the bike by day 2. And can usually get a motorbike by day 5 just questing. From there I’m pretty unstoppable. I don’t even need a base to punch out the first horde. So now I mostly play brawler on insane.
  15. I’m reminded of H1Z1. So much promise. I played it from the start. And when they sold to Sony I thought great, now development will finish in no time. But they completely abandoned survival, and turned it into fortnight… Such a waste. A classic example of what happens when development is guided by money, instead of having fun.
