  1. That reminds me, using a mining tool with 5/5 Miner 69'er gives an extra +1 of the crop, for a total of +6 if you've also maxed Living off the Land. Bug, feature, or just not a big deal?
  2. Damn, I was hoping it'd be a simple XML tweak. I guess I'll just keep my old 4x4 in a pocket, as the car nearly cut my wooden bridge in half after I drove across it lol.
  3. The lathe is needed to make weapon parts. Really useful for those rare bits you can't seem to find by looting, or when you want to make a higher quality version of a weapon you already have. I didn't find one until after I no longer needed one, but I can't complain since I went on to find both the fusion forge and laser workbench at Caitlins, along with solar bank+cells...
  4. Is it possible to increase the suspension on the muscle car? It seems to constantly collide with the terrain, even on flat ground, though perhaps it's the spinny thingies on the wheels causing most of the noise in that particular case since it doesn't seem to be slowing down there.
  5. I had a similar problem and had to abandon the quest, she had respawned when I came back a while later.
  6. For a while I've been trying to do Eve's quest line, but couldn't get into the POI due to lacking the needed item for the front door. Well, I finally got lucky and found it in a random Hidden Stash... after trying to get it as loot from lab zombies for days before that. Unfortunately the zombies that had spawned in on previous visits when I didn't have the item were still there, so despite previously feeling like a pretty tough guy, I got slaughtered. And extra unfortunately, when I went back to Eve she was attacked by some random zombo and I accidentally clipped her when trying to help out, so, well, it was either her or me. Hoping she'll respawn eventually. Anyway, the quest may have failed, but the POI was still there, so I decided to try and loot it. It took some doing with the toughies that had spawned, but eventually I managed to clear my way through the front door - only to get thrown right out by the endless stream of horror that particular POI throws at you. Died several times trying to figure out how the heck I was supposed to progress. At one point I tried luring them away, but that didn't help - though I did get a lot of useful loot, including enough notes to unlock future tech! I still lack the levels to progress in it, as well as the equipment to craft even the first level stuff, but it's nice to get that out of the way. It all started feeling a bit unfair when two behemoths had spawned indoors, especially as it left my backpack from previous deaths pinned in the back (bit of a bug/exploit there by the way, the zombies completely lost aggro when I dived into a corner on the far end of the first room; I could even get sneak attack bonuses from like 4m away), but I can't say it was anything but memorable when I had to kite one out into the surrounding landscape and try to hit it with frag rockets just to chip away at that giant health bar. I think it was after my fourth or fifth death that I finally figured the trick out, and felt like a genius (and a dumbass, for not figuring it out earlier ). After that things were pretty straightforward, though I chickened out on the last room with all the soldiers in it and flung a couple rockets in there to stop the stream without having to get close myself... I hope I didn't blow up anything important? Managed to loot a laser pistol, which'll be a godsend for the demonic enemies that have started popping up, though I'm a little salty that it does more damage without mods than my fully upgraded coilrifle, which I only recently started using. I suspect the coilsniper won't have time to shine, but we'll see once I hit level 100. Sidenote, but I'm grateful that much of the furniture in there was made of high quality materials; made it worth bringing a wrench. Now I just need to find Eve again and do her quest for the POI, I really want to see if that goes anywhere. Overall 10/10, glad I didn't ask for help and figured everything out the hard way
  7. Yes, and you can see which food items will help in the stats for the food item. Here's where you can see your wellness in the character tab:
  8. Your wellness is probably low. It's visible in one of the character info tabs, and drops when you die or get infected. It can be raised by high quality meals and drinks, or putting points into one of the perks under Athletics.
  9. Makes sense, thanks. Though I'm 99% sure these weren't ferals, as I remember looking around the building before going in and seeing trash zombies ambling about, only to later see them sprinting at me when I was running away from the ones inside the poi... especially as it happened again when I returned to pick up my backpack (which sadly deleted itself so I lost all the ammo and money etc that I was carrying). I bumped into Eve the Seasoned Survivor, but failed one of the quests as I didn't bring a key card for the fancy door (and somehow broke my leg while standing completely still on some stairs). Now I tried starting over by asking her for quests, but after finishing the two first ones I can't find her again. The "Talk to Trader" marker still points at where she used to be... bugged (like my backpack)? EDIT: Nevermind, after abandoning the quests she showed up again.
  10. What are the restrictions on gaining wellness from eating and drinking? I noticed I can't just chug red tea to max it out, do I need to actually be thirsty, or is it the quality food/drink buffs that prevent gaining more while they're active? Had a streak of bad luck so my wellness went from maximum to minimum over the course of the day... Which reminds me, is there some condition other than the blood moon that makes zombies fast? I was trying to do a tier 2 clear, but things got hectic when all the zombies started sprinting at me, including the random decaying cadavers around the poi. Bit of a shock after spending so much time on that particular server where the speed is Jog for everything. Especially as one of the deaths was to a behemoth, or so I think as I only saw it a split second before it walloped me into next week. Probably came in from the nearby wasteland. It happened again just a few minutes ago, just in time for my first encounter with a Demonic Spider zombie; got a bit worried when I saw it regenerate 500+hp in one go, but luckily unloading my combat shotgun into it worked.
  11. Seems like the client files were nuked on Gitlab for the stable release, but you can still get the experimental version: https://gitlab.com/KhaineGB/dfexperimentala18client
  12. Experimental should be right, that fixed the text issues I was having playing on a server with the latest branch on it
  13. Alright, hm. Probably best to leave them for later in the game then. Played a bunch more and got even more questions: Hunter class is my new favorite, sneaking and sniping is great! But the perks seem a bit uneven - the 4x damage bonus feels easily worth it, but the perk to be more silent doesn't seem to make much difference. I still can't sneak up and melee zombies without being noticed, and indoors they don't seem to react unless I'm right next to them regardless of stealth perk. And the extra harvesting makes me scratch my head - is that really worth a precious skill point? Maybe if it boosted the hunter's sense ability too? Would definitely have made the quest to kill animals easier if the sense was already available. Took a while to complete just because I couldn't seem to find any animals... I noticed that the stone hammer seems to upgrade blocks instantly rather than with four whacks. Are the claw hammer and nailgun obsolete or do they have some other advantage?
  14. 'Lo again! I tried out the farmer class and am a little unsure on the details of farming - the journal entry doesn't seem to be working, with the text displaying whatever I previously had selected in the journal. Is there a reason to use the farm plot block instead of hoeing the ground? At first I thought the hoe was farmer exclusive while the plot was what everyone else used, but then I noticed the plot also requires a recipe or farmer perk. I kinda disliked how expensive the block was at first, but came to like how it affected my gameplay. The plot requires a bunch of resources from corpses, so it encouraged me to go out and fight zombies in order to expand my farm. I wouldn't even mind if it was the main method for farming... but with the hoe, plot blocks seem to be unnecessary. Or do they have some long term advantage, like growing plants faster or not needing water?
  15. Strange, I can't choose 6k with the mod installed. Oh well, 8k works for me I was using the mod loader so maybe that somehow got the wrong version, but I'll just switch to the manual install then. Thank you!
