  1. OMG this new water system is painful! I'm not saying I'm against the change. They just need to tweak the settings a bit. I'm playing with 2 buddies. They cleared multiple houses and are only finding 3-5 bottles of murky water per house! We're all dying of thirst and because of that we can't eat because that (charred meat) reduces our water level even more and our stamina is completely sapped, so we can't fight well in close quarters! It's a painful, brutal crawl! I'm out there hunting racking up 150+ meat and at the same time they're coming back with maaaybe 5 jars of murky water to split among the 3 of us. This is broken! I watched a few streamer review videos before a21 dropped and they made it sound like it wasn't going to be an issue because bottles of murky water were abundant in houses, but that's very much not true! I'm not opposed to losing empty jars but holy @%$#! I'm sure it gets better, but this is a painful introduction to a new a21 game. I'm going to see about adding back in the empty jars when you consume a drink so we can survive at least! Possibly increase the loot level for drinkJarRiverWater too! This is stupid. I'm not saying to throw the baby out with the bath water, just needs to be tweaked. I've read the other arguments in this thread on it being more realistic or more in line with other liquid containers. I'm sorry, but arguments for this being more accurate are just incorrect. In reality, I'd be able to find a pot to boil the water in and and some kind of container, setup a base near a river or lake and boil as much water as I need to. I get that jars were extra inventory management. If anything, you should be able to find a bucket easily and then management would be around that bucket being full or empty. You just cook the water from the bucket in the pot over the fire and get water jars from that or drink straight from the pot over the fire.
  2. I have used this mod many times, so I'm not new to it, but v. 12.4 doesn't appear to be creating the ServerTools folder in the '\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves' folder. I'm hosting an a17 b221 server. I also have BCManager and Alloc's Fixes "installed" and have confirmed that they are working. I have the downloaded ServerTools 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days to Die Dedicated Server\Mods' folder and I have the BCManager mod folder in place, but it's not auto-creating the Saves 'ServerTools' folder. It's creating a ServerTools.db file in the world folder, and BCM is creating a 'BCMDataV3.1.0' folder, but there is no ServerTools folder or .xml file anywhere in the Saves folder.
  3. Hello all. I've played this mod before a few times. Somewhat recently, I went back to vanilla with a buddy who was playing it for the first time. We played co-op while he hosted locally via Multiplayer, then I eventually took his saved files and created a dedi server on my file server. We played for a while, then moved on to some other games. Now we're back to 7D2D because we're excited about a17, so I figured i'd show him Ravenhearst to see what mods for the game look like. I've hosted servers for several years and can usually work out these kinds of problems, but I can't figured this one out atm. I uninstalled and completely deleted my client and dedi server files and folders and followed the instructions step by step on how to "install" Ravenhearst Dedi Server. I can launch the client fine and even start a brand new game, but when I try to connect to my server, shortly after it says "Waiting on Server...", I get this error: "Exception: Block with name 'plantedLettuce3Harvest' not found!" and it goes no further. I've tried re-syncing the mod on both client and server but the error remains. I'm not sure where to go from here because I've re-verified the mod files multiple times and checked the install steps multiple times to make sure I did it right. I also don't know if this server pertains to the client or server side, so I'm not sure where to focus. EDIT: I figured it out. For some reason the 7D2D Mod Launcher wasn't working for me at all when following the instructions by BMT to setup the dedi server. I was following his instructions to a 'T' but getting those errors when trying to connect to the server. I had to end up downloading the zip of the dedi server files and do it that way. I copied those files into my dedi server install folder, then dropped in the BCM and 'Alloc Fixes' mod folders in and setup the serverconfig file. That did the trick! @JaxTeller718 - someone should look into those instructions for setting up the Dedi Server cause they didn't work for me. I miss when the Dedi Server was listed in the 7D2D Launcher because that worked perfectly for me and didn't require downloading and then copying over files; it just worked in one fell swoop.
  4. I have a piss-poor CenturyLink Technicolor C2100T as the main gateway that's only handling two IPTV boxes, then an ASUS RT-AC66W as the main router handling all the wireless and wired connections for the rest of the network. Previously, I had bridged the C2100T and used my Asus as the main router, but then the IPTVs stopped working after a while. CenturyLink came out and replaced the gateway but said it was going to happen again eventually. I still tried to bridge the new gateway and the ♥♥♥♥ty hardware would not allow it to happen so I left it alone and went with double-NAT :'( When I access the browser map internally (when it works) both my gaming rig and the server are hooked up to the Asus router getting 192.168.1.x IPs. I have them on the same Trendnet 5-port switch in the same room. I've also tried power-cycling both the gateway and the router a few times to make sure they didn't need a reboot the put the changes into effect. I know that for the C2100T even thought you apply the changes it requires a reboot for them to go into effect. I have several other services on the same server being hosted and accessible externally just fine: Plex, FTP, 7D2D, and more. My friends can login to 7D2D just fine and we have put in many hours, we just can't get to the browser map (externally). - - - Updated - - - Sorry, but I am absolutely not going to setup a DMZ to my server. That's a bad security strategy. I sure hope your wife doesn't find out you're using DMZ Not that I have anything to hide, but there are plenty of malicious buffoons out there looking to just make a mess of peoples' lives. My guess is this has something to do with my double-NAT and limitations of the web browser, but I don't understand why and wanted to make sure I've done everything I could.
  5. I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but it was kind of a "let me google that for you" assist. I looked at the site. Most are related to web hosting provider issues, but I'm not running Apachy or any web hosting services, and it's not a DNS issue. I also checked my hosts file and it's clean.
  6. Thanks, but I don't think any of these are the solution.
  7. Would that really make a difference between internal and external access, if it works from a local IP? I just tried it, rebooted too... no dice.
  8. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong ... I've setup the browser map before on many installations on my private server. I'm running Ravenhearst mod, and I have Alloc's fixes and ServerTools in place as well. I am behind a double-NAT only because CenturyLink's gateway is crap and can't handle my network of devices, so I have my router behind their gateway. I have several other services running through the double-NAT and they works just fine; I just forward the needed port in their gateway to my router's IP, then in my router I point it to my server's internal IP. I can browse to http://<server's internal IP>:8082/static/index.html and pull up the browser map fine. Everything works great! I have most of the permissions set to '2000' level so everyone can see most of the map information without having to login to Steam. When I go to http://<my public IP>:8082 it doesn't pull up. I don't think it's a port forwarding issue. I have 26900 - 26902 UDP/TCP open for the server to appear on the server browser, and 8082 for the browser map. The Command Console it also set to 8080, so I know 8082 is the right port to forward. I even went to canyouseeme.org and it says it sees my service on port 8082. I'm stumped!! This is what I get when I try the public address in Chrome. I think that's just a generic "can't find the page" message. ================ This site can’t be reached <my public IP> refused to connect. Search Google for <my public IP> 8082 static index ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
  9. Add Wolves & Boar to Browser Map? Hi Alloc, I noticed today that the browser map isn't showing icons for spawned wolves and boars. Do you intend to update the browser map to show them?
  10. Hmm... I thought I installed the dedi server through SteamCMD. I guess I'll do a reinstall.
  11. Thanks for the response, zigstum. So this is what I get: Should I be concerned about that "Not loading DLL, only supported on the dedicated server build" part? Note that I'm using Magoli's COMBOPACK_22 modded prefab pack but no actual mods of any kind. I did modify the items.xml to increase the stack number on all drinks, but that's it.
  12. Browser Map not working So what am I doing wrong? I can't get the browser map to work. I used SteamCMD to load the dedicated server files on my file server PC running Win7 so it's in a custom folder (D:\SteamGames\7dtdserver\). My client and server are up to date. I had already generated a map and played on it for about 10 in-game days before I wanted to try to get the browser map working. I found that I already had the 'Mods' folder in the root '7dtdserver' folder where the 7daystodie.exe and startdedicated.bat files are, but just to make sure I downloaded the latest version from the site, deleted the existing Mods folder and dropped in the new one. I confirmed that my serverconfig.xml file has the ControlPanel set to 'true' with the port as 8080 and a password set. I even confirmed that I can go to 127.0.0.1:8080 and login to the Control Panel UI and send commands like saveworld and shutdown. I also tested from my gaming rig and it works fine. But when I try going to 127.0.0.1:8082 in FireFox, IE or Chrome it just says the page can't be displayed. My Saves folder is in my %appdata% folder for 7DaystoDie, but I didn't think I had to fool with that, just drop the Mods folder into the root dedicated folder install path. I saw mentioning of permissions on the site for Alloc's Fixes. Do I have to add commands and permissions to my config files to get it to work? I assume it's very simple and that's why the site doesn't go into much detail about how to get it to work. I just feel like I'm missing something. I've gotten it to work in the past even. Then I watch YouTube videos of how to get it to work like BigC90210 and that's all he does; drops the Mods folder in the dedi server install directory and it starts working. I even installed the 1.0.67 version of FrontRunnerTek's Server Manager (which I know is outdated and abandoned, but it still works) and confirmed that Alloc's Fixes are installed properly (I don't know of any other way to verify it). The web browser also doesn't load in FRT's Server Manager. What am I doing wrong? Anything I need to verify? Thanks in advance for reading this and trying to help.
